I read this in the app
http://www.app.com/story/sports/outdoors/fishing/2015/03/02/fishing-striped-bass-fluke-regulations-finalized/24288097/
(http://on.app.com/1BAe07v)Striped bass, summer flounder and black sea bass are expected to get the lion's share of attention at the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council meeting this Thursday afternoon in Absecon.
The striped bass bonus program, the length of the 2015 summer flounder season and size and bag limits for black sea bass are all slated for discussion and possible action.
The options for the bonus program, which allows a bonus permit holder to keep one striped bass in addition to those already allowed under the regulations, are one fish at 28 inches or a slot fish between 24 inches and less than 28 inches.
The quota for the bonus program has been reduced this year to 241,000 pounds from more than 300,000 pounds to achieve the 25 percent reduction mandated by the 2015 striped bass management plan. Allen said the Council may also consider a specific season within the regular striped bass season for the bonus program.
Looks like this won't be finalized for good yet? what is the end process to make this consistent? What I mean is all these gov't groups have a say and they are all deciding different outcomes. This just seems to confusing to the fishermen who will be out there this year. It seems every time there is another meeting this stuff changes.

Scrap everything and start over from scratch. Give authority to one regulating agency and keep it consistent. When the stocks are down and the numbers show it close it down just like with sea bass and red snapper. Just kidding that was a dream I had lol. That could never happen in nj. My .02.

The RFA and surf fishing clubs pushed for 1 fish at 28" as all states have done. The JCAA and Tom Fote stated that the clubs ,head boats and charter boats want what is in red. The president (Angler Paul) by the way is a boat fisherman and started saying the JCAA was 1 @ 32 so much for that. So now NJ looks like we could care less and if we go over we will pay the price next year do to the fox in the hen house.
Remember this when the JCAA fluke tournament comes as this is all they care about.

It made me sick to read that! All of the other states seem to recognize the need for cutbacks but no NJ! what a bunch of liars these guys are.
