How come we hate seals but love dolphins?

There have been sightings of dolphins here and on other sites. I haven't seen too many myself but am not really happy when they show up because that means the bass and bluefish will book the hell out of there.
You hear about seals stealing fish and guys hate them for it. When dolphins show up they do the same thing. Whatever they don't eat they scare away. So why do ppl love them so much? Is it their smiling faces, the flipper memories, or something else.
Personally I think they are about as useless as the piping plover as far as fishermen are concerned. What do you folks think?

I think anything that takes fish from us or causes our fishing space to be restricted should be BBQd and eaten with potato chips!

Maybe it's the cute factor? Dolphins are cute when you see them it looks like they are smiling? Seals are just fat and blubbery. Otherwise I don't know.

Yup the seals are fat eating machines. I hear up north they will even come and take your striper from you when its on your line. The dolphins can be freaky too check this out.

^^^^So true those dam seals are so lazy they steal from us all the time. Not enough great whites to keep them in check.
