Saw a few hard core yakkers doing pretty well with smallmouth on the Delaware today.
Great action for a hot summer day....:fishing:

I'll try to put down some of the tips they shared when I get a chance.

I'll post as I get a chance. We found several groups fishing from kayaks and canoes. I tried to chat a little as we passed them by. Got to see some decent fish landed. Mostly smallies. They lost some others.

These pics are a little far away because I didn't want to look like a tourist and ruin any action for them.

What was interesting was these were aggressive in the faster water.... Some small striped bass were also caught along the brushpiles and eddies along the sides.

All trolling or casting small swimmers.

We also met a Dad and son who had caught a 27" bass on chunk bait near a brige upstream the evening before. The variety of fish is definitely there. Mostly smaller ones.......however one of the guys fishing said he had gotten smallies up to 3 1/2#, which is a very nice size for a smallmouth.

There are some HUGE smallies in the big D. Some monster catfish as well. Thanks for sharing.
