I don't have a lot of personal experience with inlets but heard that one they left open in the eastern end of long island has made things a lot better.

Manasquan su_ks more so from all the beach replenishment sand washing away and going in inlet

When you really take a sec to look at that video you see they made a big mistake closing it up. Thanks for posting.
