Had some health other setbacks have limited me to local freshwater fishing so far but had great success in the PA trout opener, including 3 of the trophy class goldens and stockie slam and some pictures i was happy with.

Same way i do it with all species diligence , planning and not afraid to take a chance. Drives my friend nuts but i wait until the last second to make the call where to be opening day. The dry warm week had me convinced the trout were laying super shallow at the bottom of a stretch and it paid off, the cold front later saturday sent them into the deep water for sunday. The rebel hellgramite did its thing as always including the 3 large.

This bottom Pic thisguy was working cleanup on my lower shallow area saturday after he watched us haul them in, where i took the picture is where the crowd was.

Great pics, looks like a great start to your trout season (normal for you).
Your "planning" certainly pays off. That part of the fishing is a big part of fishing I enjoy leading up to it.

x2 on the planning. Seems you managed to get away from the crowds somewhat. Very nice pic of the golden. About how much would you say that weighed?

Awesome! Always love your fish pics thanks for sharing. Looks like something similar to a mepps type spinner. Is that it or something else, thanks.

looks beautiful... been a while since I've been serious trout fishing (whether or not you were serious is a different issue ;) )
