I am in the process of building well, sealing what I am going to paint up.
they are built already with some hanging up for a long dry with one still soaking in the sealer now, taking it out tonight to hang up.
only making 8 this winter and have 2 left to shape.
here are 2 of what I have hanging up drying.
2 fat hound dogs for the windy days.
this design casts very well in windy conditions.

I have been told that many times.
who doesn't like a piece of wood that wiggles like a naked hulagirl on a hot skillet?

That looks like the larger version of the mag darter. I was wondering how much it weighs? very nice work by the way.

I sold that awhile ago, I think it was 3oz. 5 or 6" long, maple wood.

Isn't it hard to make plugs out of maple?
Yes, but what a difference it makes. Gotta have a good sharpening system for lathe tools. I have a Tormek T-7. a little pricey but worth it.
Also maple is such a smooth closed grain it seems easier and for hand carved shapes there are some great new burrs Kutzal for one

U carved that magdarter by hand? You're kidding right? you must have a hand as steady as a surgeon. Nice job
