Have only made one trip to the salt, been concentrating on targeting special Freshwater fish. Large trout exceeded all my goals and large flatheads already have as many large ones in 2 weeks then in 3 months last year, struck out looking for a musky in two blind attempts though

Don't feel bad about wearing the mask. I would do the same thing. Otherwise you would have fanboys following you around.

about 6lbs or very close, in PA its hard to get fish over 5 that are state stocked fish due to the size of the state. I missed a true monster special fish saturday that looked a legit 7lbs --with a lesson to be learned.

This is my ace plug, rebel helgramite but the hooks are small, thats a standard size striper clip for sizing, my winder project was to add these red larger hooks to one for big fish and my eyes and the tools i just couldnt change out those tiny split rings and i quit. Sure enough it came into play, these hooks just werent big enough for a 7 pound class fish. So lesson i should have stuck to the project

Beautiful Trout. The biggest one I ever caught was like one and a half pounds. Those are monsters compared to that, well done.

It is a lot like stripers. Live or Chunks. I am only in my second season for flatheads and all the local "experts" said it has to be live bait. Much like a big bass they get lazier with age and look for easier meal. All my big ones come on chunks that I give a good squeeze.

I also apply striper tactics on the water i i fish I like rip water or rocks, most people will fish where it is comfortable for them , i.e no snags dont have to wade etc, there is a big sub society of guys after these fish and I was able to sling shot past a lot of them using striper knowledge.
