We want to see any fish pictures you have collected! Whether you or a family member caught them or not -- put them up, as long as they are not copyrighted or watermarked. :)
If you did catch them, please share how, and anything else you want to add that would help someone else learn.

Roddy, I would trade all the bass I caught in Sept and till now, just for some nice gators like that....
We had them from about the first to last week of Sept.....and it was incredible,.....challenging as they would not touch ML swimmers and focused on small bait...the best action was when they hammered the mullet and were a little less picky......
Folks shake their heads when they hear me saying this, but I would rather catch those bluefish, every day, than the scattered bass we have down here right now..........
Looks like you are having a blast......:viking:
thanks for sharing the pics with the members here..... :HappyWave:

well DS,I'll tell you, they have been funny here too.following the lure and not hitting or boil after the plug and not hit.
then you can see them around clearly and they act as if you were not there at all.
even this spring, bicycle George was telling me that the fish would follow the pencil and not hit.you stop it and they would circle it then you move it and they follow it again, thats just crazy.
I dunno,just keep slinging I guess.

Back on the bass again Roddy!
How did you and your wife fare after the hurricane? Power, any damage, etc?
It crushed a lot of folks in NJ and LI.....we are down but not out.....:blackeye: :headbang:
The colder weather and winds has given the fish in many of our bays and rivers lockjaw....last week there were a lot schooled up, and some pockets of high teen bass..... but with some bay/river water temps in the low 40's many have moved into the ocean by now...
Big blues....we had them before the storm, in the surf, to the high teens........would really like another shot at them as they come down the E. River and Hudson and out through the NY Bight...there were an unprecedented amount of spot (lafayette) holding them in the Hudson before the storm....
What forage are they eating?.....here it's been corncob mullet, spearing, and rainfish in close.....
and things are slowly starting to get back to normal....
Good to hear from ya, stay safe...:HappyWave:

it has been a spotty season at best and it is now dead,no fish since the last picture.
been looking to catch some gators but, they seem to be in low amounts too.
as I can call it this year the spring run didn't happen.
caught more local fish than any "run" fish.
will keep casting and hanging on.

well,I know it's a year and 10 days later but,I didn't realize I never replied to this.
I sure wish I knew why a school of fish would leave food and swim away.
perhaps they were on a migration to a preferred area or less or more favorable water temps.
I know gators like to roam, they are built to do so fast and steady.
as for bass they are laid back but, will leave food to continue on their way/migrate.
I have seen that quite a few times where there is plenty of feed for them but, they move on perhaps to be in an area for a squid bloom or something like that.
at times animals know when to be somewhere specific no matter what.

shoot man,I know how that is,nearly every year I go through one.
last year it was 5 weeks and the year before it was 3 weeks.
it will improve, maybe not a lot but some.
the occasional gator helps a lot when the line is not tight.

Nice catches,
I see your still fishing mono, is that because of all the rocks in the area you are fishing?not at all,I amnot a trusting fan of braided lines, besides I am sharp with mono,it's cheap and it lets me know when it is damaged as it makes a certain sound when it goes through the guides.
also,if it backlashes,i always can get it out with no problem.
finally,I just don't like/trust braided lines.makes the senses dull due to it being so "revealing" of feeling.
yeah, call me crazy but,it works for me.
besides all that,I only fish with convench reels which braided line does not make a diff in casting distance anyway.
so,it all works out good.

I have to say it is due to my fishing with large and very large swimmers, they seem to get their attention more so than a smaller lure would even if they are not in eyeshot, they are still in earshot.
if they don't see it but, hear it they will take active action to hunt the source down and once they actually see it,they almost always attack it.
I have proven this to myself over and over and that's why I fish them hard.
at any rate they do work and I will be doing it as long as possible.
cheers
