Some of the guys here said in the reports they fish the plugs in the low part of the water column.
How can you do this with a bomber, it only goes down about 1 foot?
I heard about BBs or oil, but have never done it. How can you set one of these up, and make it work so the bomber or small swimmer swims deeper? thanks

You can burn them open with the tip of a glue gun. Oil is good, but you then have to make sure the seal is perfect. You can also use bbs, steel buckshot, and seal with the glue gun or epoxy when done.
I like the BBs better because the weight transfers better when you cast. They act like a custom magdarter, and go down 3-8 feet, depending on how many BBs you fill them with.

I like the bbs better, too.

Or, if you are fishing a deep channel, you can put a few bbs in there, and then fill with mineral oil. Best of both worlds.

It gets them out a little bit more and a little deeper but I feel it kills the action of the plug ,they work I'm not that big of a fan of bombers I like big swimmers I will use the bombers when the sand eels are around.

Heres a quick how to: heat up a finish nail and push it throught the top of the bomber about an 1/8 inch back from the eyes in the center of the plug then add 10 cc's of water with a medicine dispenser (anything more tends to really knock the action way down defeating the purpose of a bomber)then you have a couple of options either reheat the nail and smear plastic from the plug over the hole or epoxy it closed use 30 min. epoxy (5 min. is not waterproof)don't use to much epoxy to cover the hole just enough to keep the water in epoxy adds weight again taking away from the plugs action.

Here you gotop picture un loaded. bottom pictured loaded plug
I use mineral oil or shot end result plug should float like bottom picture, and it will retain it's action.
Approximately
10cc for 7"
12cc for Cordell PP
5 to 6 cc for 5 " redfin or 16A bomber
When loaded right they float like picture been doing it that way since the 60's they swim great and catch fish
A-Salts cant be loaded

Great advice guys. After today I wonder if the fish might be deeper down and want to try that. Anyone know where to get the needles with the cc markings? Or do you have to get them online? thanks in advance
