How many different variety of plugs and colors do you use on any given night?

I have about 3-5 that I consistently use, but if I'm not catching, I will go through everything in my plug bag until I find something that interests them.

^ What he said, but I change out the type of things in my plug bag depending on the season. Now I'm starting to carry smaller things like magdarters and small megabaits, and small tins. I am never satisfied and tend to go through a couple presentations each night.

Just talking about variety.
I have a bunch of Double H Lures.
These are real custum lures (not mass produced).
They have a variety of action, size and shape. I carry at least 8 of these with pencils, metal and rubber shads.
I use between 4-12 different plugs depending upon how the night goes.

Here's a few others by Double H Man. I like his plugs because they are truly custom, not mass produced.
And the are different than what others are building. Tries different designs, different colors. I got my hands on the green one above and that plug has produced on water that I would throw 3 or 4 different plugs/metal at with no results, then that one would get slammed. Makes a great wake, gets attention.
Thats one of the great things about this sport, seeing what these custom plug builders come up with. It would be great to get the guys who make their own plugs on this sight to start showing off their custom stuff. I think there are a lot of us who really appreciate their work and their creativity.

That's what caught my eye as well. The bigger the wake, the greater your chances are of calling something big to your offering. JMO, nice plugs, RP. :clapping:

As far as the variety I use on a given trip, I try to keep it down to a few. It's a tougher call in the middle of the season when there are various bait profiles out there.

Thanks V-35,

I like making wide bodies with a fat profile, seems to get attention and lets all fish in range that some kind of food is near.
