Having problem using circle hooks. I can never seem to get a fish on one. What am I doing wrong?

You have to unlearn what you learned about setting the hook to cross their eyes. Simply keep the line tight, and reel with quick pressure. If you yank the rod, you will yank it out of their mouths.

Like voyager said, a quick retrieve is best. If you set the hook, just "bump" it once the line is tight. I reel in till the line is very tight, and pull sideways, works fine.

Could also be the size of the fish. With smaller fall bass, you might want to downsize the hooks to a 4/0 or 5/0, use larger ones in the summer when bigger ones are around.
