Is your wife or girlfriend totally understanding about your fishing?

Mine understands only when she has something else to do. Otherwise its whinning and complaining.

My girlfriend is the coolest. She never hassles me, knows this is part of an addiction for me, especially when the big fish are around. I try to balance it up when I'm not fishing by taking her to some nice places every now and then, and some great vacations whenever there is money to spare.

She's the best. I also try to tell her that every chance I get.

And, we have the greatest times together, maybe because I'm half-crazy,:kooky: love to laugh like I'm a little kid, and she's like that too. I'm grateful that I met her.

Sometimes we men think it's "understood" by women, and it's not. They need validation, and to feel like they are not wasting their time with us mooks.;)

As long as you take time in the winter to take care of business and spend time doing things they like, it should be no problem. People don't communicate with each other, and it becomes a problem.

my Wife is cool with it. I told her after reading "the dark side of fishing" that if it becomes a problem let me know. My family is #1- fishing is #2.

How about this one. His wife has been bankrupted by his quest. Eating ramen noodles. Then he has to confess that he has lied about how much his fishing gear cost-
"The rods were over 400 each and the VS 250s were over 700 bucks" Priceless.

My wife is high maintenance, frankly, and I love her anyways. She'll complain about my fishing, as she is a meat hunter... ie, the only reason to fish in her mind is for food... but understands my desire to just get out there.

There are several I know who have literal Saints for partners (wives/girlfriends).. either that or the women got something going on the side.

An acquaintance, Eric the plumber, is an absolute vampire striper fanatic... and is getting his son to join in. Loved talking with him on a job as he showed countless nighttime striper pictures as well as his lineup of "favorite" plugs on the manspace wall at home ("favorite" being every plug type and color combo that any reasonable person can think of throwing)

I really think his wife has a gig on the side he doesn't know about.

Others that get out a lot at night have wives and/or girlfriends who themselves work the nightshift... leaving what? time for stripers.
