USCG searches for fisherman off Mass. coast
BOSTON—The Coast Guard is searching for the captain of a New Bedford-based fishing vessel that capsized off the coast of Cape Cod.
A Coast Guard spokeswoman says the 71-foot Costa and Corvo started experiencing trouble at about midnight on Thursday roughly 115 miles east of the Cape.
Another fishing vessel, the Mary K, was first on the scene and rescued three crew members from the water but was unable to locate the captain. His name was not immediately released.
A Coast Guard jet and helicopter assisted in the search and two cutters are en route to the scene.
The three rescued crew members were not seriously hurt and remained on the Mary K after being evaluated by the Coast Guard
