homemade fish catching stuff

So did anyone ever take a teaspoon and put a hook on it, or anything like that? Let's hear about some of your homemade stuff you used to catch fish.

I knew an old timer when I grew up who made bluefish lures out of spoons and clothespins. On the spoons he would cut the handle halfway down, and solder a big stick em hook onto the spoon part, or drill holes for the hooks. On the clothespins he would dunk them in melted lead and then wrap with hook and a wire. There was a trick to it...you had to wait until the lead had cooled down before you could put it on the clothespin or it wouldn't work.
