Tagging Fish

I'm thinking of joining ALS and start tagging fish. How many of you Tag fish? Any of you had Tag returns?

vpass, a friend of mine does it, I don't. He gets a lot of enjoyment out of it. The ALS, Berkeley Striper Club, and HRFA, I believe, are some of the biggest groups around here that practice tagging.

It's good to hear about one of your tags being returned, or even better a few years go by, and you see how big the fish got that you let go. Of course, this depends on accurate field observation and measurements. It's still a nice feeling.

I wanted to add that if you do tag a fish, take care to follow the procedure they tell you to do.Don't try to modify it in any way. That's how fish get sick and diseases, and I know the folks tagging them don't want to see this happen.
