This even surprised me,years ago in my youth,I and a friend were fishing below a waterfall catching salters up to 16 inches,it was late april,we caught several fat raccoon perch and crappies too.
then I hook something very small,it turned out to be a baby striper that could not have been more than 5 inches,we ended up catching 7 of them between me and my friend.the lure was a mepps 0 spinner.
never would have dreamed of that!
