If you want to talk about bluefish, you can catch them on anything. I knew a guy who used to cut up old spoons (like the ones you eat with) and weld split rings, hooks on them just for the fun of it. Great to see them work when big blues were around.

^^ Or sometimes when there are too many of them, you can take the hooks off, and just watch them nail the plug over and over.

Caught a sidewalk salmon once on a $100 bill.:D Now if you're talkin in the water, used hot dogs once for catfish, worked pretty good, we coated em with bunker oil.

one time at the river when i was little i asked a guy wat he was catchin the fish on. he said hotdogs, lol, but i didn't know he was bein a **** so i used hot dog and bun pieces on a hook. he was pissed when i got a catfish on it, lol

I heard that some people use old silverware knives. They punch a hole in the tip of the knife and attach the hook at the end of the handle. It swam with darting motion and casted like a bullet.

I know a Portuguese guy who fishes for striped bass in the summer with pizza dough soaked in olive oil. it works.
