How many trips to the front beaches do you make every year?

20-30. I fish the back bays until the bunker are getting beat up out front, and then hit the beaches.

Split it around 25 out front and around 30 out back (not way back).

Here's where it becomes embarassing to talk about our addictions. I fish about 2-3 nights a week for 7 prime months of the season. Sometimes 5 nights a week when fishin is best. I'm worried that if I don't go, that's when the fishin will be epic. So maybe 75-100 times out front, 25-50 visits out back. Overall, I might fish 100 times a year, maybe more if I wanted to be honest about the addiction.

I don't think guys answering this question should be worried about the number of times, or if this is a pizzing contest, I don't look at it that way. I have a bunch of friends whi fish almost every night during prime season, so maybe they fish 200-250 nights a year, if they wanted to be honest about it.

I would say it's best to go as time and family obligations permit. I started cutting down the time spent/trip last year, so I could make more trips, and have the discipline to go home when fishin wasn't happening. I really like to be out there, I get more peace and serenity from that than most anything else, whether I catch or not. And Im also addicted to it. :embarassed:

I'm kinda proud of the fact that I have been able to stay away for more than a month. I had a lot of work to get done, so that should come first. Family, work, responsibilities, and then fishin.

Like DarkSkies said- discipline. If you have the spare time and are close to the surf, then your trips are unlimited. I used to be out there at night when homeless people were seeking shelter. Still just wondering how many trips the rest of you do.

When I lived on LBI, 5 doors from the beach (21st St. Surf City,) I'd hit the beach for every sunrise and sunset, from about March till December. That's a LOT.

Then we had a son.

Then 2 more sons, and a daughter.

Then we moved to inland NC.

Now I might make it 2 or 3 times a year.

Sad, ain't it? But hey, there are always crows and carp and coyotes around here.

jonthepain, the kids will grow up and things will settle down and you'll have more time, the itch never goes away. I could never live too close to the surf, I'd revert to my nomad status. Some pretty impressive amounts, not casuals.

I make between 120 and 150 surf fishing trips each season. When I finish paying for my daugters colleges it will be more. A little less than half those trips are out front.

You guys are hardcore! If you account for the fact that we can't fish for bass for about 4 months of the year,(you can fish but you might not catch in the winter) that averages out to 3 or 4 trips per week. I tip my hat to you both.

It's strange, I took out my Log Book and counted the number of trips. I thought I did around 60 trips. It turns out I only did 43 trips. I hope this year work don't get in the way like it did last year. lost out from the 2nd week of May to Sept.
