Took a ride to the Sergeantsville fishing flea market yesterday. They had 2 halls for the vendors. Everything was easy to find.
It seemed like a well-organized event, and there were lots of tackle offerings from different tackle shops and tackle vendors, along with a few people selling outdoor crafts. The food was good, thanks to the volunteers and their families from the Sergeantsville Fire Dept. :clapping:
I was told Tommy Marotta was one of the head guys in charge. He and the other firefighters did a great job putting the show together. I understand they have been doing this for quite a few years now.
The hours were 9-3. As I got there at 1:30, some people were packing up, and some had left. I don't know if that's good or bad.
Some vendors on the way out were saying attendance was down for this year. I don't have enough info to verify that, I'm just reporting what they said. I think in this economy I have seen a general trend of attendance being down at most of the flea markets I've been to, with one or 2 exceptions.
It was a great chance to get out and drive among the rolling Hunterdon county hills. Coming from where I live, I appreciate seeing houses sitting on 5 or 10 acre lots, and it seems life is less hectic out there. Beautiful scenery and classic historic structures, still standing and being used every day.
Yesterday was a day to take the bike out for a putt. There were a lot of bikers riding around enjoying the scenery. Sadly, my bike sit home in the garage, needs some carburetor work. :(
