I love to catch trout because I enjoy the sounds of the water, watching for wildlife along the banks and the fresh cooked fried trout. The best time for trout is the first month of the season. You can get them under logs or rocks, in a deep slow moving pool. Summer trout is easier to catch during the early morning hours when the sun is first coming up. They love to feed after a good rain.
When is your favorite time to catch trout?

Great question that deserves an answer. Any time of year, I prefer the 'golden hour' of 60 minutes after sunrise or before sunset. I really enjoy the transition of light and I believe it serves up good fishing. Incidentally, if you are leaving a stream at sunset, you are leaving too soon. The big ones come out at night.
As for seasons, i prefer the early spring and late fall. It has become a manner for me to mark the passage of the seasons of my life. I enjoy each season and remember the passed ones fondly.
