Track the bluefish hordes, bluefish survey

It seems to me bluefish have been showing up earlier and earlier each year. I thought if might be pretty cool to collect some data from you guys, and try to post a chart detailing the different times they have shown up in the past. If you have some info, either from your logs or memory, post it up, I would be glad to hear your thoughts.

This ain't a scientific study, it's just tabulation for fun. :kooky:

I don't usually target Bluefish I catch them as incidental while Striper fishing but here are my numbers since I have been keeping track. I wish I was keeping log books from the begining.

2004 May 8th, 89 blues for the year
2005 May 7th, 80 blues for the year
2006 June 14th, 22 blues for the year
2007 May 28th, 28 blues for the year
2008 May 10th, 44 blues for the year

I fish mostly the south shore of Long Island on the east end from Moriches bay to Montauk and once and a while the north shore.

Last year I didn't hook up with that many Blues, but the area I plug has changed, structual and current wise.
