1) Do you let him reel it in?
2) Who keeps the fish if he does?

I agree with Surfwalker, but if the shoe was on the other foot and it was my friends rod I would only touch it to keep it from going in the water and as soon as my friend got there I would give him the rod.

If it's his rod its his fish. I just keep an eye on it until he gets his arse over to it.
