What's the worst thing...

1-What's the worst thing you ever blew off (family function, birthday, anniversary, work, etc.) in order that you could get to the water to fish?
2-What was your phoney excuse?

I blew off my grandparents 50th anniversary party. I told them I had an emergency job at work. To this day I still feel bad about it.

Some years ago my girlfriend's parents were coming in from overseas for their yearly visit. I told her I had a business conference, and went fishing for 2 days. By the time I got back, they were getting ready to leave in a few hours to visit her sister. Oh, well. :D

I can't say I ever blew off a family function. Yet I have blown off work quite a few times.:lookhappy:
