For some reason my plug seems to get snagged more often than I would like. What is the best way to get it out?

Snagging while swimming the plug? Something about your retrieve is just not right. I could see snagging a bucktail or shad in the current or cables on the bottom, but a plug? Is is a suspending or sinking swimmer? If so, you need to step up on the retrieval speed.

Good idea. Or when you are snagged, try to bow and arrow it, don't pull hard, but pull your line back like notching an arrow, and pling it forward while releasing the pressure. Sometimes this will get the hook out.

^ Spot on advice I have gotten a lot of plugs out that way. I try to avoid the hook digging in to whatever it is. At the first sign of the snag let up tension on the line and work it gently. Sometimes the moving tide or waves will help you too.
