Do you like bait or lures better for stripers?

it depends on my mood if i feel good i will walk and throw if not its sit and toss bait both have there place with me thats my 2 cents tite lines and good fishin:fishing:

at one time,I did both but thats because of where the fish were,deep water and no top action.
these days I plug,it's been in my blood since age 11 hence my nicname.

I like the plugging better and everything that goes along with it, even the frustrations sometimes.

I like plugs, but I will bait fish if I am with my friends and we have a fire and a cooler full of brews. I only fish bait 4 or 5 times a year.

I Have not bait fished in 6 years, except for eels. Plugging, and flyfish is all I do. I'm planning my next few fishing trips to fish live bunker/chunking for the bigger bass that will be coming out of the river soon.

Over the superbowl we got in an argument over this. There was one side that said all the bigger bass are caught on bait like bunker heads bunker and eels. I and another bud were saying that the right plug and conditions can get you the biggest fish. There is that guy from north bar bottle darter that got bigger than a 50lb bass oh his plug. Whats your opinion?

I love the action when a fish hits plugs. It's a great feeling. I think for the early spring when the water is real cold your best bet is with clams or bunker. I will be fishing the first week of March and probably shucking and tossing the snot because of the cold winter.

Same here. Love Plug fishing/flyfishing. But early spring is when all the Cows are staging to make there spawning run, and Bait will get them. Water would be still too cold for these bass to chase lures.
