Met a guy fishin the other night, talked to him for awhile. His name is Chet, Polish guy. He started out 15 years ago working for someone else doing hardwood floor repair, refinishing, and poly finishes. He's been on his own for 10 years now.
Business is slow for him with the recession. He said a lot of his private customers are not having any more work done. He'a been surviving by constantly doing commercial work in larger houses. he has a list of builders who use him as a sub, so he's keeping semi-busy.
Meanwhile, based on the conversations we had, here's a guy who's conscientious, hard-working, and cares about his customers.
I haven't seen his work, so I can't vouch for the Quality. However, if you're looking to have your floors re-finished in the NY area, give Chet a call!! He says his prices are reasonable, and the work is solid.
