He's not really anonymous, not to anyone who's into plugs and different builder styles. :D
Met him today, he's been doing this for only a few months, and has some interesting stuff.
You NY guys know him from another place, and have probably seen him fishin Jamaica bay. He's compulsive in whatever he does, whether it be modifying a salmon fly rod to work for bass and blues, to trying different new designs and techniques for building plugs.
Most of his plugs throw a lot of water, the bottle poppers seem to be the preferred way to catch daytime fish back in the bay.
Beyond that, each different plug design has a story, some interesting stuff. I sat there for way too much time today (what else is new?) and talked to him about his work before goin fishin. He takes immense pride in what he does and how his stuff helps guys to catch fish.
For example, in Jamaica bay, like other bay areas, it's hard to catch fish from shore during daytime low water. So he designs a lot of his plugs to cast like a bullet, 2ozto 4 oz, streamlined, and they push a lot of water on the retrieve.
I was honored to meet this guy. He's really dedicated to his craft, and I learned a lot talking to him and seeing what he's about.
Took pics of a lot of his stuff, but it's not all for sale, that's why it's in this forum.
He has selected ones for sale, which will be noted in the pics..
Price range is generally between $15-20. If ya want something custom, give him a holler, He says he can make whatever ya want, just give him the specs.
He usually sells stuff without hooks and split rings. Those prices are for the finished blanks that you would put your own split rings and trebles on.
Nice meetin ya, *** ***** :HappyWave:

Check out how intense this guy is. :wow:In searching for the closest thing to the real swimming fish, he decided to make some plugs with real bluefish and seabass skins on them. Great work!! :clapping:

Contact:
For now, he doesn't want to put his phone # on the internet, he would rather be fishin while the fishin is hot. He's looking to sell a few here and there, that's it, no tackle shops or bulk orders right now.
I'll pass along his e-mail address if you're interested.
Disclaimer:
I have no financial interest in any of these transactions. Any transaction is between the buyer and seller, and I would only get involved to the extent it was shown to me there was dishonesty in a transaction. Otherwise, I accept no liability or culpability for any transaction between buyer and seller, here or at any other place on this site.
I cant endorse any of his plugs as I havent tested them yet. From my observation of his casting them today, they do cast like rockets.
People who have been around here for awhile have seen that this is my policy. I don't like to hype the stuff up like some people do on other sites. I want people to try for themselves, and then make their own decisions.
I welcome opinions here about the quality of the products that are being sold. I think honest and open feedback benefits us all. I did buy a few plugs from him today, and will try to report my experiences as I use, and abuse :D, them. Thanks, guys.

Jimmy, I sent him an e-mail, it seems you and some other guys want some more details on pricing and availability. I'll post that info as soon as he lets me know. :HappyWave:
Jimmy and others, I got an e-mail from him today, I posted pricing info on the ones he wants to sell. I know he comes on here and reads this. I'm hoping he will come up with an e-mail address that he'll let me post so people can deal with him directly. It would be a lot easier that way, eliminate some of the steps.
In the meantime, anyone who wants his e-mail, PM or e-mail me.

Well, since he registered and joined, let me take this opportunity to welcome Brasilva. :HappyWave:
I met him out in Jamaica Bay, you should see the huge cenventional rod he has, paired up with a magged reel, that thing can outcast a spincaster rod with a regular spinning reel. Some impressive casting skills he has.
From the short conversation I had with him, I could tell he was a fanatic about fishin. Seems he's a finatic about plugs, too. Good to have ya aboard, man!
I'm gonna open this forum to the general public. It doesn't matter if you're a member or not on this site, if you like Brasilva's work, contact him directly at:
jfsny@hotmail.com
Anyone who has bought or used any of his poppers, I would appreciate honest opinions of how they work, and what your opinion is. Thanks guys.

I had a chance to test out 2 of the plugs I bought from Brasilva on Sat. No fish on them yet, but it was a tough day all around. I only had a 1/2 hour window where I could catch any fish at all plugging.
I'll report more on them as I get a chance to fish them in the right conditions. For now I can confirm that they cast far, and can punch out into conditions when the wind is in your face. So I'm happy with that aspect of them.
Here's part of my report from the kayak forum:
"I managed 3 small blues in the next 1/2 hour, and that was it as the tide started to fill in. They were spitting up spearing. I tried switching to a smaller yozuri with a spearing sized teaser when the bite died, but no takers. http://stripersandanglers.com/Forum/images/smilies/don't%20know%20why.gif All the way to Jamaica Bay, and only 3 bluefish? :kooky:
The answer to that is that I want to learn all the areas this year that I haven't been to before. I know there will be a learning curve, as I figure out which areas produce better on the incoming, which produce better on the outgoing. Lots of lonely, unproductive hours and not catching as I learn these places.
Meanwhile, I get excited by the challenge. Im keyed up when I make a trip like this. Something about unexplored places brings out the excitement and enthusiasm in me. It's hard to explain it to people who haven't been there, but I love that place, fish or no fish.
I ended up drifting through an overpass area with bunker chunks, and a weight to keep it near the bottom. No takers. The wind kicked up again, and made passage back to where I launched difficult.
I stayed on an opposite point for awhile and casted there. The wind was howling in my face, so I brought out some of Brasilva's poppers for the first time so I could cast out into the channel. No fish on them or anything else, but I was happy with the distance I got out of them. They do cast well, and faaaaaaar. :D"
Here's the plugs I was using:
