What makes Van Staal better the the other reels out there?

I can almost bury it in the sand, then put in the water, turn the handle and its like new. Very, very reliable.
Not the smoothest turning reel, smooth enough. Rugid.

If you throw it in the sand all the time or go squishing with it they are great personally I would rather a Shimano Stella I do not swim with my reels nor toss them in the sand.
