the strangest thing I ever saw a bass do was hit my plug about 15 feet in front of me,I set up on it and then spin around several times, not wrap itself up in the leader but, spin in a cricle while on it's side,so I could see it's shiny flanks as it spun, must have put a VMC through a noyve 'er somethin'.

Great topic for a thread! Mine happened 2 weeks ago. I was swimming out to a big rock that is about 300 yards off the beach. As I approached the rock, I paused to take a few casts around it before getting too close and spooking any fish that were hanging around it's base. Before I took the first cast, I saw the strangest thing. A small baitfish, looked like a blueback herring from a distance, jumped out of the water and up onto the rock. Seconds later a bass probably about 25" - 30" long jumped up onto the rock after it, flopped around, then slid back into the water. First time I've ever seen a striper clear the water chasing a bait fish.
