Poaching and Game Violations reporting Info:

Many people complain on the internet about these violations. Here's your chance to do something about it. Copy these numbers, take them with you, and make the call when you see something.

You don't have to risk a confrontation, just make the call. Please be aware that undercover officers are stretched very thin, and it may not seem like your calls are always responded to. However, all calls are logged. Even if nothing is done that time, they will eventually get caught if enough people make complaints.

So please make those calls when you see violations. Don't take the law into your own hands and risk danger to yourself or your family.

Can someone please post the regulations in NJ for taking bait fish?

Here you go buckethead. Be advised that there is now a limit on herring, and this info came from Scott's B&T.

Bait FishNo license is required for the taking of baitfish for personal use in saltwater with the following gear:

Dip nets 24" in diameter or less for the taking of herring for live bait.
Bait seines 50 feet long or less.
Cast nets 20 feet in diameter or less.
Lift or umbrella nets four feet square or less.
Not more than five (5) killipots.
Not more than two miniature fykes or ports for the taking of eels for bait.

Fish taken in this manner may not be sold or used for barter unless a commercial bait net license is in possession.
No person shall take more than 35 alewife or blueback herring in aggregate per day by hook and line or the above listed gear.
No person shall take or attempt to take fish by any means from the Deal Lake flume, Lake Takanasse spillway or Wreck Pond spillway on any Monday, Wednesday or Friday during the months of April and May.

Island Beach 4wd permits

Driving your vehicle on the beachYou can drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle on the beach, with a valid permit, to gain access to areas of the park where you are allowed to surf fish. The Island Beach State Park issued permits though do not allow anyone to just drive around on the beach.

The number of three day permits that are issued is limited during the summer season. Annual permits are $195.00 and are valid for one calendar year. They are valid from January 1 and run through December 31 regardless of the date of purchase. You can obtain additional information about beach driving permits by calling the park at (732)793-0506.
