Bait for stripers

I hope to do well on the fall run. I wanted to try eels because I heard they are the basses favorite. What is the best bait to use when trying to catch the cows?

they work but if the bass are feeding on bunker they would be the bait to use so if u are fishing cape may rips and the eels are there use them :HappyWave:

Eels do work well mostly in the inlets and rips but when the run just starts too many bluefish to be feeding eels to even at night live bunker would be my first choice and fresh very fresh bunker my second especially the heads hook through the lips so the head doesn't spin under water I only use the first two cuts behind the head never the tail, spins too much and doesn't put much scent around change the bait every 15 minutes.Then of course you have legal size porgies and seabass,live snappers I try not to use them but if the need is there they are bait.
