The Surfers are breaking the Law on the North Side once again today. This surfing letter needs to over flow the mailbox in Albany.

Tom I was curious, don't the surfers have to obey the same access laws we do? If we are tresspassing or don't follow the regulations, the CO's or park police can give us tickets. So how come it is not that way with the surfers?

Do you know what the financial penalties are for surfing in a restricted area, Tom or anyone else?

I don't surf but my grandsons do. They also fish so are trading info with the fishermen all the time. What makes it so hard to have a surfer's only beach and a fishermen's only beach? We have some areas like this in NJ. There are no signs officially designating the beaches as such. However, common sense tells the fishermen when they go to a certain beach after a storm, it will be filled with surfers. And the surfers seem to know enough to stay from the beaches/jetty areas that have the big bass action in NJ during the spring blitzs. So I am wondering why it is so different in NY?
