pointers on how to catch the bait

I know there are videos here about cast netting. I checked them out, they are cool. I bought a 5' cast net for a beginner and am practicing. I think it will catch mullet and peanut bunkers, but not spearing. My question is how do you get the bait without spooking the school? I tried the other day for an hour and only got one peanut bunker. What am I doing wrong? thanks in advance :fishing:

Is the net opening all the way if not thats why you are only getting one unless the school isn't very big they are at their best with large schools of bait,you also have to let the net sink before pulling it up.The whole key is to learn to get the net to open properly try it in your yard so you can actually see what the net is doing and how it is landing its kind of like throwing a frisbee only harder.
