Sometimes I think I would just like to run single hooks instead of trebles on my big wood, bombers and such . Do you think there would be a better success rate?

Depends on what your objective is. If you are in a blitz and want to get the fish back in the water so you can get more, I think the siwash single tail hook is a good idea. Too many trebles are irritating to me when I have to pry them out of the fish's head, but that's just me. I also think I remember seeing a thread or 2 here on this. Maybe you could do a search on the topic. Hope that helps.

I use dressed siwash hooks on the rear of all of my plugs and also cut one hook off of the front treble leaving the remaining two hooks in place I really do not think it cuts down on my success rate.I do not cut the trebles and do leave them on the back of pencil poppers because they miss the plug a lot.
