sand eels for bait?

Yesterday johnny saxatillis was talking about them using sand eels for bait at the Cape, and fishing them like clams, dead sticking them. Does anyone here use sand eels for bait that way? How have they worked for you?

ya friends of mine will only use sand eels on a high low rig, kinda suchur the eel on there, the more the merrier, and they have like a 4 or 5 oz lead pyramid. Huck it and drink some beer. wait for the rod to bend.

but like i said. that aint fishing, thats just hangin out with buddies tossin bait and stoking a fire on the beach to pass the time. not even fun:kooky: id rather scour the coast line in waders and toss plugs all night. like tonight. and successfully i might add ;)
