A buddy told me that he uses glow in the dark lures when the water is muddy. I have never used them and wonder what you guys think. Is it worth the purchase?

What kind of lures?

I have seen light up lures or rather a piece you add to jigs that light up for deep sea cod. I hear they work well but that is for deeeeep fishing below where light reaches.

I have 2 real image jig-n-spoons from cabelas that are glow never really had much action on them but the schoolies love them when they are in the wash. Some of the other colors they come in (shad, chartreuse and mother of pearl work the best I think for the price it's a good deal change the rear trebel to a dressed single and as usual change out the split rings. If the water is murky I usually try chartreuse or hot pink.

I've had good luck with glow-in-the-dark soft plastics when the squid are running.
