Skunked

When I'm out fishing if I meet new friends, learn more about the water and how to fish certain areas, I don't consider it a failed day if I get skunked.

I think every time I am out on the water it is a learned experience.

I can not think of a day in the surf when I finished up and said that sucked or what a waste. I enjoy the time fishing whether I catch a fish or not.
I can only get out 1x a week (vacations a few more days), so the time on the water is very important, I want to spend that time walking the beach, finding structure, throwing plugs, doing what is fun for me. Not riding around looking for fish. 90% of the time I will park the jeep and fish a beach without driving to another spot (may walk a mile or so, but normally do not drive to another beach/area). While catching fish is the goal, its secondary to just getting out there and having some fun trying to catch fish.
