Eel skin over lures

Has anyone ever fished with lures that they put eel skins over?

Now I put this bag in a 2nd bag and toss it in the fridge.(An understanding wife is very helpful!)

I have never tried that. Next time I get some eels, I'll give it a shot.

I found the exact same plug with the same wire but no skin or hooks in a back bay here on L.I. . Did you happen to lose one a year or two ago? If so I sent it back to NJ, Dark Skies has it.

Frankie, I already started my eel skinning after I got that plug the other day. I can tell you my skins don't look anything like that. :embarassed: The skins came off in pieces, I must be doing something wrong. I'll get the hang of it eventually. Good thing I got a couple dozen dead eels to practice on. ;)

From what I understand, you must lick the eel before you pull the skin off, it provides a little extra moisture so they don't fall apart. :naughty:
