Two men rescued from burning boat off Manasquan Inlet

MANASQUAN — The Coast Guard rescued two men Saturday from a burning boat five miles off the Manasquan Inlet.
Coast Guard officials said an initial 6:35 p.m. call from a crew member placed the vessel at a location 10 miles away, but thanks to direction-finding technology, they quickly were able to locate the pleasure craft Finally.
The men reported that they were leaving the boat and getting into a life raft.
A Coast Guard Station Shark River rescue boat transported the men, whose names were not disclosed, safely from the burning vessel to emergency medical personnel.
One of the men was treated for smoke inhalation, and the other was uninjured, officials said.
