Hooks and bass

Should we be using the thinest size hooks for bass? I read that is the best choice. I would think that we need larger heaver hooks for the cows.

For plugs the trebble hooks I use are VMC V9626PS. I think they are 4X, maybe 3X. They are not thin. I believe these are the standard for plugs. I use them because they do not rust/corode easy and for their strength (reduced chances of bending. During a fight).
