The one that got away

This was a long season for me with many mishaps. One particular time stands out in my mind. I was out early morning 3:00am throwing artificials. On a slow retrieve back my pole bent in half and and line went singing. I thought for sure I had my cow of a lifetime. After 1.5 minutes of reeling my line went limp. :eek:

I kept casting and praying hoping against all hope that he would latch on to the hook again. No such luck.

I can't be the only one of the season who lost a big one. Can I?

I have lost a few fish this year but nothing that was of any decent size.

Where as I lost my bigger fish in 2008, in 2009 I cannot remember loosing a big fish (striper).
A couple big blues kicked my a**.
