Anyone doing anything special (Wrapping a rod, etc)?
Been tying some Slug-go rigs.
Also repainted some Tony Spina swimmers and Bob Hahn swimmer.
I had some success with goldish colored plugs last year.
So this is my first shot at painting (I'm not an artsy/craftsy guy).
Anyone want to fish one :fishing:, I'll send them the bottom center one (first person).

Yes nice work Monty normally I would jump at the chance to fish it but I'm hurt for now so maybe one of the other guys. Now a ? about your tail hooks where did you get the gold material or if you don't mind what is it,doesn't appear to be bucktail if it is it looks very fine, I like to fish gold alot also but have a tough time finding that color in a tying material other than Krystal flash.Any info is appreciated.I guess I could airbrush some white super hair for more durability.

On these tails I used a little gold Krystal Flash on the bottom (I always add krystal to the tails or teasers). Then the tail is bucktail. I think its a shade of olive. I have a few olive colored tails, all different shades, the one I selected was closest to the plug color. I was lucky in picking this colored bucktail up. When I am in a store that has bucktails I always look for something special (olive, chartreuse, etc) that are a shade I really like. Always hunting for colors that match up to a bunker color.

Thanks I always use krystal also they actually look gold in the picture tuff for me to visually buy anything the only fly tying place nearby closed up so if I order it online I'm at the mercy of a picture.I was looking through my stuff and found a light ginger color that may work out w/some gold KF

Nice work. How can someone get started in this. It would make a great winter project for me.

I have a bunch of plugs I picked up for around 6-8 bucks each. I am sanding some of them down and painting them, then a couple coats of epoxy. There are kits out there too. I am new to this. Rip-Plugger (sent me the yellow plug to finish), has helped me along big time.
Latest after the last coat.

Nice work monty I grabbed a few kits for the winter that I'm slowly getting too can't stand that through wire tail wrap just can't seem to get it right & my wife bought me an airbrush so I'm working on that also and tying usually keeps me busy.I'm messing around w/some different color schemes other than the same old basics.
