What does fishing mean to you?

My escape from the civilized world.

To me it's not just the fish. It's about spending time with my Dad or my kids. Or making new friends. Getting exercise. Seeing things many people don't get to such as the sun rising in a huge orange fireball from the edge of the ocean, or lightning crackling across the sky at midnight. It is also an escape from the every day doldrums. Catching fish is just the icing on the cake

The love of being in the great outdoors. I also get to share quality time with my family. BESIDES THE FACT THAT I JUST LOVE IT.

Getting lost in the experience. Total concentration on catching fish. Resetting the mind. Love being on a beach by myself at 2:00 am. Me, the surf and some fish (some rain is OK).

Not getting locked up forever for strangling some of the idiots I run into during the day. Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed they are so stupid. Fishing helps me to chill and enjoy the water. Catching is awesome, large even better. It's the fishing that really counts to me like some of the others said.

Being out on the beach is awesome in itself. I have seen things I never would have if I wasn't a surf caster. I also really like the hunt. I want to find the fish. I also like to keep learning.
