I just registered for this. Is it a must do thing now? The site sure made it look that way.

If you want to fish any of the states that has saltwater you must be on the noaa registry. If your state has a saltwater registry you will be covered under that. It seems so confusing to me but I didn't want the hassles so I registered.

I got mine. I was surprised it took about a week. Thought that there would be a hugh backlog.

i am now anoyed mine is still not here with me some how it got held up and i was called ok good they called me i spoke to the young lady confermed my info still not here they i get called again another young lady i told her i was call once before this matter was fixed i guess not i am still looking for it well now i have call them not happy with them as of now:burn:

Sorry for the confusion but I don't want to get a fine. If you are on the National registry and your state requires a saltwater license do you have to apply for the state one as well?

No you don't but your state will most likely be less expensive next year. Plus the fact your money goes back into your state and not some federal general fund.
