I just read a little article about how it is beneficial to wet the line before your first cast. It said some anglers bring spray bottles to accomplish this task. Does anyone practice this?

Only when it is raining or I am swimming to a rock do I do it on the first cast, otherwise it is done on my second cast.

I have not done that...at least not on purpose
But I do typically start with short casts and then increase distance a little bit at a time

No, I've never wet the line before the first cast. I just walk to the edge and let it fly.

With mono it used to be a practice to soak the spool of line in warm water for awhile before spooling it on a reel to soften it up a bit and to leave it in the bucket while spooling it onto the reel to put some drag on the line to spool it a little tighter.Other than that I don't wet my line.I don't think that would be beneficial for braid.

My uncle wets the line on his first cast. He actually brings a spray bottle along. I don't even see the point in it.
Throuw the line out and it gets wet, its not brain surgery.
