Is it the amount of energy that you have, strength, or finesse which helps you bring in a monster fish?

Energy? I am pretty lazy

Strength? I am pretty small in stature, not saying I can't hold my own though.

Finesse? Like a bull in a china shop.

Why haven't I caught a monster fish yet? :don't know why:

IMO mostly skill and knowing how to fight a fish. Most people have no technique and fight the tackle not the fish( using tackle way too heavy for the fish they pursue. With the right technique I have seen teenage kids and women beat 150# tuna no problem while observing grown men drop to there knees on smaller fish.

Examples:
Taking too long to turn a fishes head
High sticking instead of short pumps.
Not keeping pressure on a fish and while your resting the fish is resting.
And so on ands so on.

If your referring to bass a 20 to 30 pound fish, fights much harder than a 50 pounder. Big bass make one long run and then it's game over. All has to do with technique and knowledge of using tackle. To me finesse is more presentation.
