I really miss hunting in the snowy mountains of Oregon. So since we had 3 or 4 inches of Global Warming here in the North Carolina Piedmont last night, I decided to leave the sleeping sledders home, and hit the woods with my trusty old snow-dog.

This is my favorite one, Jon.
So you're saying your dog doesn't like to listen?

That look like a lot of snow for NC. What's the most you guys ever had down there, is it this year?

She listens fine, just won't fetch. Odd for a retriever.

That's not necessarily a lot of snow for around here. It's just unusual to have it snow twice in a year. We had 3 or 4 inches a couple of weeks ago - paralyzed the area for 3 days.

Several years ago we had almost two feet in one day. that was fun!

Most years here in the Piedmont it only snows once, if that. but it's usually several inches when it does.

up in the mountains of NC they a piles and piles of the stuff...

I enjoyed viewing your story. Maybe you should carry some treats in your pocket and teach the dog to fetch.

Those pictures were incredible. What kind of camera do you have?

thanks. it's a kodak dx6490. the inlaws gave it to us when they got a new SLR. 4 mpx. non-swappable lens. think it's a 2.8 lens.

it's no Nikon, and kinda low on megapixels by today's standards, (i think my wife's phone is around 2 ) but does pretty good for me. :)
