I stopped at Canarsie on my way to Freeport. Got a fishing report.

Maybe it was this huge herring eating gull, rumored to be able to eat 20 herring in a single sitting?

The gull was as big as a chicken!

OR....

King Neptune did not receive his tribute, so we won't be getting many herring this year. :burn:

I'm not exactly sure who's at fault this time, but the herring are sparse, and the pickins slim. As I was enteriing the parking lot, a guy was leaving with his kids. They had rods in their van, so I asked him how the herring bite was. He said they got a few herring a week ago, but the herring bite has been dismal this year.

Hope you all enjoyed that exercise. Cold weather is keeping a lot of people inside. I thought that might help the boredom a little. ;)
