That's a pretty good deal. Do you also sell bucktails or jig heads?

I managed to make it down to that show today despite the torrential rains and wind. Given the snotty conditions it was a very successful flea market.

There was a problem with the turnoff road to the Lacey Elks. The bridge is being worked on.

Because of that I got a little disoriented trying to find the place. Many thanks to Bob Howe, a local resident and fellow fishermen who helped me as I stopped to ask for directions. :clapping:

I hit the flea market at the tail end. Many vendors were packing up by that time. Despite that, I still managed to run into S&A member Tropics and his lovely wife. :HappyWave:

Had some good conversations with some other vendors, met some of the Sr members of the Fish Hawks fishing club, and got an awesome grilled chicken sandwich from the kitchen.

In all, a day where you would have thought the weather would have killed it for the vendors, turned out to be a pretty successful day for them and the Fish Hawks club.

The people who were leaving as I got there seemed happy as well, though even a few minutes outside got overyone drenching wet.

(I guess when faced with a "Honey-do" list on a Noreaster Saturday, or making the choice to drive to torrential rain to a fishing flea market, many guys made the choice to hit the flea market. :fishing: :lookhappy:)

From their web site...

http://www.fishhawksnj.com/

The Fish Hawk’s Saltwater Anglers Club’s charter was established on April 6, 1977.

The common goal was to form social fishing club, dedicated to good sportsmanship, preservation of the marine environment, and safeguarding our natural resources.

Each year since, our membership has increased and the Club is now one of the largest and most active fishing clubs in New Jersey, devoted primarily to fishing for a variety of saltwater species. Expertise of members ranges from novice to expert, from fishing, crabbing, and claming in the backwaters of Barnegat Bay, to the canyons ninety miles offshore. And if you don’t own a boat, the Club has a “ride along” program for members.

Meetings are held at 7:30 P.M. on the first Thursday of each month at the Lacey Elk’s Lodge, Beach Blvd, Forked River, N.J., guests are welcome. The agenda usually includes a renowned guest speaker and/or video presentation on fishing, marine electronics, or related topics. Current legislation in regards to marine fisheries is big on the list of discussions.

The Fish Hawk’s, in conjunction with other Clubs, address these concerns through writing campaigns and attending hearings in regards to size / bag limits, quotas, and protecting the rights of recreational fisherman.

For members, there are monthly fishing contests from April to December, fifteen tournament days for Bluefish /Fluke/Weakfish/Sea Bass/Striped Bass/Black Fish. Social events consist of an annual banquet, and picnic. Members can call each other for assistance or fishing reports on the Club radio channel or can contact our FCC licensed VHF base radio station located at Jim’s Mobile Marine, (also a member) in Waretown who monitors channel 16.

The monthly newsletter, mailed to your home, includes information on current legislation, fishing contest /tournament results, a profile of the monthly program, discounts from advertisers, and local shops and a “Traders Corner” where members can list items for sale. A wide variety of videos are available to members in the Club library. Personal “club identity” items such as shirts, jackets, hats, decals, cookbook, and patches may be purchased.

With all the sinkers we fishermen go through in one year, it's too expensive to pay the 30c/oz or more they sell it for in the stores.

His deals for 10c/oz can't be beat!

The weather kept me in, trying to keep water out of the basement. Glad to hear that there was still a good turn out.
