Wood is wood the only other thing in there is either a tail weight or belly weight.Plastics are molded so they have hook hangers and the through wire is usually ran through a channel in the mold some have rattles which are usually just bb's as far as I know w/o getting into specific lures.:d

The rubber shads are weighted in the front by a keel weight to keep the shad balanced.Most of the others I know of rely on a jig head of some sort.I started off using the Storm shads(pictured) but the Tsunami's seem to be better can't tell you why the storms still work I use them by bridges alot.

I found an old chopped up shad lying around and this is what the keel weight looks like.Very similar to a sailboat keel.
